Below is a list of my favorite things to do in my free time.
I have played many games throughout my life, but a select few have managed to influence me in a significant way.
The creator of OMORI, OMOCAT, is a wonderful artist, whose work is often inspired by Japanese culture, video games, and artwork. OMORI is a pyschological horror game about a boy who has stayed in his home four 4 years after a traumatic event, and spends his days and nights living in a dreamworld he created for himself in order to cope. The game deals with the topics of depression, grief, trauma, and suicide.
OMOCAT's websiteI love to watch indie animations in my freetime, as I've always loved to see creative and passionate artwork made by like-minded people. One company in particular has caught my attention and admiration: Glitch Productions. GLITCH is an independent, self-funded animation company based in Australia. I admire GLITCH for many reasons, but I've always appreciated their goal to change Western animation, and be a company that supports other indie creators and not fall victim to corporate greed. They create animations because they love what they do, not for the sake of profit.
Glitch ProductionsA game I come back to often is Baldur's Gate 3, made by Larian Studios. This game is set and based in the realm of DnD (Dungeons and Dragons), a tabletop RPG game set in a fantasy world. Baldur's Gate seeks to create an intriguing and expansive story that you shape with your actions. Baldur's Gate 3 is absolutely the most interactive game I've ever played, with ultimate freedom and thousands of narrative branching paths you can explore.
